Our Home

Here are a few pictures I took during our first days in our new home.  As you can see, I love antiques and anything vintage.

I created additional counter space and storage (to my very small kitchen) by converting an inexpensive dresser into a kitchen island (of sorts).  I picked up this little dresser for $20 from a local swap listing.

This is our guest bedroom (I call the PINK room, even though the walls are a soft yellow).  I plan to use pink accents.  I have since added a pink bedspread (I will post later).

I found this vanity for $75 at a garage sale.  My best friend and I split the 3-piece set (dresser, chest of drawers and headboard for $150).  I have had the rocker for about 30 years.

This was my son’s room when we first moved in.  I have since replaced this twin with a queen and have a lot of plans to give it a western twist.  I hope to post soon.

My dining room.  The bistro set was another purchase from a local sale site.  The china cabinet belonged to my husband’s grandmother and will eventually go to my stepdaughter.

This buffet also belonged to my husband’s grandmother.  The photo above is of my maternal grandfathers family.

The young lady standing on the far left is my maternal grandfather’s mother.

Here is a close-up,  I think my aunt and I favor her quite a bit.
